Artist's statement

After careers in publishing and Social Services, in London, Canada and Norfolk, a lifetime’s interest in photography became more than just a hobby following a 2-year course at the College of West Anglia. Jo lives in West Norfolk, but her photographic travels take her around the UK and abroad.

Her gallery work concentrates on land and seascapes, natural history, interiors, and quirky bits and pieces. Norfolk and the UK feature strongly, but they compete with images from Spain, Portugal, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Australia, Iceland, Morocco, and elsewhere around the world. Other areas of interest include:

• informal portraits
• restoration of faded or damaged photographs
• scanning and enlargements
• one to one and group tutorials on Photoshop and the use of computers for photography (filing systems, etc.)
• commissions, such as photography of events and products, and providing images for websites, calendars, greetings cards and book jackets
• supplying the Frank Lane Picture Agency with natural history and environmental images

Jo’s work has been accepted into Open Exhibitions in London and East Anglia, and she has put on both solo exhibitions and others jointly with fellow artists. Her work has sold widely in the UK, Europe and in the USA.
